Nihat Kandaloğlu completed his undergraduate studies in 1981 and his graduate studies in 1983 at Yıldız Technical University, Department of Geodesy and Photogrammetry Engineering. Between 1991-1992, he completed his post graduate education in the ITC International Institute for Aerospace Survey and Earth Sciences, Cadastral Information System in the Netherlands, and in 2012 he received his doctorate on Urban Transformation at Istanbul Technical University. He is one of the first experts to receive the valuation expertise certificate. He started his public service on September 17, 1982 as a Control Engineer at Üsküdar Cadastre Directorate. He worked as an Inspector at the General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre between 20 October 1983 and 5 May 1997, and continued as Istanbul Land Registry and Cadastre Regional Manager between 5 May 1997 and 10 August 2003. He returned to his duty as an Inspector on May 5, 2003 and resigned from the civil service in October 2003 and moved to the private sector. He has many publications on geographic information system. He modeled the land registry cadastral information system studies in the process of Istanbul regional directorate. (Oracle and Microstation) He has many publications and books in the field of urban transformation.
